I am an inclusion
teacher for fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students at New
Center School in Sevierville, TN in the foothills of the beautiful
Smoky Mountains. I grew up in the mountains of eastern Kentucky
and attended a one room school for my first eight years of
education. After fifteen years as a teacher's assistant in Sevier
County, I received my B.S. degree in Special Education from ETSU in May
2005 and my Masters in May 2007. I began my teaching career in
the fall of 2005. Teaching brings much joy to my life!
I am married to Jack Hess, a
glassblower in the Arts and Crafts Community of Gatlinburg, and we have
three sons and two grandchildren. My favorite activities include
spending time with my family, sharing coffee with a friend, reading a
good book, hiking, traveling, and shopping.
In every difficult or troubled time, a student ought to be able to look around and see a teacher standing in his or her corner. ~ Unknown
