Behavior and Discipline PolicyI use bees and hives for disipline that follows our insect theme. Each child's bee starts in the Queen's Hive every day. If their bee remains there all day, they will earn all of their playtime and $1.00 of play money to buy tickets for our classroom lottery. The lottery will be done every week. If your child is caught not following the rules, they will first be given a warning then their bee will be moved to a different hive (see below). If your child moves their bee more than 3 times (every time your child moves to a different hive it counts as 1 move) in a week, your child will not be able to participate in the lottery that week. #4 Hive: 10 minute timeout and loss of $1.00 #3 Hive: 15 minute timeout #2 Hive: no playtime #1 Hive: note or phone call home to be signed and returned the next day * #0 Hive: written up on a referral form to be sent to the principal and a note or phone call home. If you child continues to not follow the rules after this, they will earn a visit to the principal's office, which could result in detention, loss of field trip, etc. *Notes sent home and not returned signed the next day could result in additional loss of recess for your child.
